Science Inquiry Workshops for Pre-K Teachers

Each year, CIBL offers three 1-day workshops for any teacher of pre-K children, whether the teacher works at a school or private center.

These sessions, called I Notice I Wonder, provide experiences of basic, advanced, and outdoor inquiry-based science for very young children.

Teachers learn to help children notice more about the world around them and to wonder about it. Each session includes about a dozen activities based on the Widely Held Expectations from /Foundations/.

Teachers conduct activities as if they were students. Each workshop carries .6 continuing education units (CEUs).

After attending the basic workshop, teachers may attend the advanced and outdoor sessions.

CIBL has been the professional development initiative that teachers and administrators in our system have consistently requested.  CIBL trainers not only lead teachers in discovery techniques which are easily adaptable in the classroom, but also instill a level of confidence that translates to better classroom instruction.  The teaching modules are filled with everything a teacher needs to successfully engage students in higher order thinking and learning. –Alamance-Burlington School District
